England's Department for Culture, Media and Sport is putting together a list of 100 English icons - things that denote Englishness - and the latest set was just announced, including Winnie The Pooh, the V-sign, and Doctor Who! This is a great idea. The list makes interesting browsing, such as this entry for a cup of tea. Check out the whole list at the Icons site.
