My parents live in the UK and they have occasional problems with their PC (a Dell laptop). For ages I couldn't figure out a cheap and easy way to get remote access to their system. WebEx PCNow was free for a while but now charges per month, and GoToMyPC also charges a fortune per month. LogMeIn, on the other hand, has a free-as-you-like version and a pay-for-extra-features option! I've been using the system for about three months now and it's totally fantastic. (Also totally useless if your target machine is a Mac but at least the viewer can be whatever machine you want because the client is written in Java.)
It provides all the features I need at the price I want ($0) and is rock-solid reliable. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for anything other than non-secure applications (no accessing your work machine from home, folks!) but if remote access to your Windows machine is your need, you can't do much better than LogMeIn. Not if you're a non-geek, at least. (VNC through SSH remains the best solution for anyone technically minded.)
Dave -
Found your site while looking for more people who had opinions of both GoToMyPC and Logmein.. I too switched and couldn't be happier.
Love the blog, particularly your title! As a Latin nerd I enjoy goofy words such as that.
Best of luck

Thanks for your comment, and compliment on the title. It's one of my favorite words and seems to describe blogging particularly well!
