Every year the eGov Shared Interest Group of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), which is part of the American Council for Technology (ACT), organizes the Excellence.Gov Awards. Nominate your program now! The deadline has just been pushed back to December 9th. Here's the latest mail from IAC:
The eGovernment Shared Interest Group is now accepting nominations for its sixth annual Excellence.Gov Awards. Building upon the charter to recognize and expand results-oriented electronic government, the theme for this year's awards is Information Sharing.
Nominations of Federal government programs only, including Federally-led programs done in collaboration with State and Local government partners, will be accepted online at www.actgov.org/ExcellenceGovAwards through Friday December 9, 2005.
Nominated programs or initiatives should exhibit active participation by multiple stakeholders, support strategic goals and objectives, leverage industry standards and best practices, and demonstrate a sound approach to the security and privacy of electronic information. Emphasis will be placed on implemented projects with demonstrable benefits. The Excellence.Gov Awards will be presented in a ceremony and reception taking place in February of 2006. The panel of government and industry judges will consider the following evaluation criteria:
- Effectiveness in meeting the information sharing objective in terms of overall mission, business process and service improvement.
- Effectiveness of the approach and degree of collaboration across organizations in the implementation and governance of the information sharing solution.
- Incorporation of industry and government best practices and standards related to information sharing including access security and data privacy safeguards.
- Evidence of an engineered, sustainable, multi-constituent solution
