This is an idea before its time. A company called iSkoot now offers a way to call your own PC which then routes calls to destinations of your choice, such as international numbers, via Skype. While this is an interesting application of a new technology, there are better ways to achieve the same ends. Personally, I use VIP Communications to call the UK for $0.08/minute. They offer a toll-free number that I can call for free from my cell. The quality is great, and I can call any UK number, not just Skype users. I can't imagine that mucking about by configuring iSkoot and Skype to work with my phone, and paying iSkoot $10/monthyear, will work out any cheaper than using VIP's toll-free number. But it's great to see people experimenting with the new possibilities that Skype and VoIP offer.
It's actually $10 per YEAR.
