Check out Nina Paley's animations and, in particular, her wonderful take on The Ramayana. Each episode has its own bluesy-soundtrack. The animation is wonderful, and the effort needed to condense such a complicated and lengthy work into these 3-minute episodes is almost unimaginable to me. (Thanks to BoingBoing for the heads-up.)
