Yet more innovation from the BBC! Podcasts are basically radio shows that you can download and play on your iPod, or any other MP3 player. Some people are seeing them as another challenge to traditional radio but the smart response is to regard them as another distribution channel for content. The BBC is taking this approach in this trial. While only non-music programs will be available (due to potential copyright problems with music-based shows), the variety of content is representative of BBC radio's output, including news, interviews, documentaries, and sport.
